04Earlier and academic work: research, identity, 3D and industrial design.
Ecoexistir
What if city buildings grew their own food? A service that turns shared spaces into community gardens, with an app to learn, plan harvests and trade with neighbors. Its identity changes with the seasons, like a tree.
My part: Research, service design, app and identity. Individual project, 8 weeks.
Class project at UC School of Design. Not built.
Kyklos, urban mining
How do people in Santiago keep, repair or get rid of their old electronics? For Kyklos, a company that recovers materials from e-waste, we ran a survey, interviews with users and recyclers, participant observation and a probe with six people. The result: four mindsets, twelve findings and five implications for design.
My part: UX researcher, in a team of five with Kyklos as client.
Needfinding course, Master’s in Advanced Design UC.
Stackable stool
A stackable stool in recycled PET. Four iterations, each checked with a stress simulation, taking out material until a hollow frame became a single die-cut sheet: 1.2 kg and 2.4 mm thick.
My part: Form, structure, simulation, 3D and technical drawings.
Industrial design course, UC School of Design.
MeetPark
Outdoor furniture for the UC School of Design, shaped by ten interviews and on-site observation of how students gather. Modular, seats about eight, stores bags and tools, in recycled HDPE.
My part: User research and product design, in a team of three.
Product design course, UC School of Design.
